In order to keep the peace in the house this summer we've been having "camps" every week. We successfully completed math, science, nature, cooking and soccer camps. Here are some fun pictures: mini volcanoes from science camp.
The kids were super excited for their frozen experiment. After awhile they gave up on their tiny tubes of water and teaspoons of salt and just poured gallons of water from the hose onto the frozen blocks to get their plastic bugs out.During soccer camp Ryan taught the girls about World Cup and we worked in a little flag recognition and geography.
Happy 4th of July!
This year I broke down and bought the kids some Japanese summer outfits. It sure is hard to get the cloths folded when we are having such a great time. Contrary to popular American belief these are not pajamas. Carl got some more teeth up top and is great at showing them off. Since Carl was born I've been working on crazy quilt blocks out of old Indian kurta fabric. It's really nice because it doesn't usually require precision or measuring so I can put one together in a couple of quiet time sessions.
We had our favorite festival last weekend and there was everyone's favorite things immortalized in paper mache. Note: Frozen characters and Godzilla. Ryan was so happy.
