On the way home

We got to spend an extra couple of days in Singapore as we waited for a space-available seat back to Tokyo. We can't complain, who are we to begrudge a couple of days in tropical paradise? We spent one day at the Botanical Garden which was lovely, albeit muggy. Here we are walking in the banana forest section.

We found a cheap hotel by the beach primarily used by Singaporeans for their weekend family barbecues.  It was fun to walk out to the beach and I even bought a kurta top from the convenience store.

The harbor in Singapore is amazing, there are cargo ships from one end of the horizon to the other. These waves were docile enough that our kids wanted to play in them.

It is not everyday that your mom lets you play in sand. Alice is clearly enjoying this to it's fullest.

When we got back we weren't done partying since Ryan and Alice had birthdays to celebrate. Can you tell who got to chose their favorite dinner and cake?
