We received our next Air Force assignment: Misawa, Japan, starting in the mid July. This great picture of the base welcome sign came from www.misawalife.com.
In regards to the recent earthquake, from what we can tell, Misawa was spared from major destruction, but the have lost power.
To get ourselves ready, Ryan and I started a Japanese language course. Our library offers an online course through www.mango.com. We can now say good morning/afternoon/evening, thank you, good bye, are you sightseeing, it is cold/hot, it is fine weather, and be safe. We are well on our way to proficiency.

No way! How long will you be there?
this is awesome, exciting new! congratulations!
Barry (your little cousin) went to Japan on his mission and married a Japanese girl afterwards. He was in the Sendai mission. If you want, I'll give you his email and you can email him. But then, you guys may well be the type to figure it all out on your own:).
Wow! How long will you be there, Michelle?
Here is another blog of an LDS family who is currently living on the base in Misawa: http://actegratuit.blogspot.com/
