Christmas Cautions

Christmas can be a dangerous time. The number injuries from bad combinations of water, electric lights, and dry Christmas trees goes through the roof. We've avoided those perils so far, but below we have a couple of pictures of Helen caught in risky behaviors.

In case any of you are worried about Helen eating the infamous poisonous poinsettia - According to the Madison Poison Control Center, a 50-pound child would need to ingest 500-600 poinsettia leaves to suffer ill effects of any significance. Another risk at Christmastime is food poisoning. Luckily for us, we caught ours before we ate it. Unfortunately, it had already stunk up our refrigerator. Good thing the temperature dropped outside so that we could just transfer everything to the porch.

Mom, Dad and Hannah made it to our house safely, albeit a little cold. They were wide awake when Helen woke up in the middle of the night. I wonder if they noticed that I wasn't really awake when talking to them. They have since moved on to Iowa for a couple of days.

You are so lucky to have your parents come to visit. Spending time with Grandparents are the best memories that the children have. If they are too young, take plenty of pictures and tell them of all the wonderful things you did while they were there for their visit. Merry Christmas. I love reading your blog I feel that you are part of my family (Thanks to that silly girl, Amber LOL).

I'm glad that Hunter is not the only trouble-maker this Christmas! It's too bad that Helen is so darn cute when she's trying to get into trouble, she could get away with eating the whole christmas tree and no one would even think twice! We all know that you just look and smile and give her a big kiss! Don't try and pretend that it's not true. I can shamefully admit that sometimes I do that too for Hunter.

Hi Hacketts! It's Laura Winder here. I'd love to send you my annual newsletter, but I need an address (email, home, whatever). As I'm not willing to post my email address here, that could be tricky. Um...if you still have my Ohio phone number, it hasn't changed.
